TheArmour Research Society:

In late 2004, the Armour Research Society was created as a collaboration of like-minded historic arms and armour enthusiasts. Since that time we they have grown into an organization that is more than 150 members strong. The Society is open to all, whether you are new to the subject of historical arms and armour or a devout academic in the field. Their membership is a valuable resource to the historic armour community, and they aim to push the envelope of knowledge in the field of arms and armour and the environments in which they were created and used.

As a non profit-making organization based in the USA, they provide a range of online publications, and organize events such as workshops and conferences. Their next conference will take place at the Wallace Collection, London, March 31st - April 1st 2007. For more information on the both the Society and their Wallace Collection Conference, go to:

The Arms and Armour Society:

The Society was formed in 1950 by a small group of enthusiasts dedicated to furthering the study of arms and armour, from the earliest times, by bringing together scholars, collecters and professional experts. It has now grown into one of the leading groups concerned with the study, collection and preservation of arms and armour. They produce a twice-yearly journal for the publication of original research papers, and in addition members receive a quarterly newsletter.
Membership is open to all, and takes two forms: either 'Corresponding' or 'Full'. Members can attend monthly meeting at the Tower of London, and the Society organizes other events, such as visits to collections. For more information about the Society go to:
